The Abandoned Railroad Trestles of Ault Park and Their Future
Over the years, people have casually mentioned the railroad bridge towering over Red Bank Rd. as a suggestion of another abandoned location to photograph. Sometimes, they’d also recommend the “hidden” one, another forgotten trestle in the woods, just west of the big one.

Frames from Sunday September 10, 2017
The corner of 4th/Vine in Downtown Cincinnati and Scott/4th in Covington. Trying to chase some light on a Sunday evening and looking back into street photography while wandering on the bike. Felt like the only people around were either going to/at the riverfront park or disappointed, drunken Bengals fans wallowing about.

Kentucky Kingdom: Six Years Later | Part 2
Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom had a reputation and eventually the gates closed, the carousel stopped playing music, and the roar of roller coasters were silenced.

Kentucky Kingdom: Six Years Later | Part 1
After photographing many abandoned amusement parks over the years, I've never seen one come back to life. Until now.

Last Day of Summer
A few quick photos made on the "Last Day of Summer" in 2017, wandering some tracks in my neighborhood after a run. Since these trains only seem to run and make copious amounts of noise in the middle of the night, you can get a pretty good look at their details and monikers in the early evening.

August 2017
I’ve now been doing these monthly posts for a year. One of the things I like about them is that they’re a visual record, a reminder of just how many things can transpire in a time period of 28-31 days.

The Building That Changes Color
There's a new tower on Cincinnati's skyline and it has a unique feature.

[Fading Advertisements] Second National Bank? Hidden in Plain View
On a street lined with one the largest collections of the city's fading advertisements, there's one I never noticed before.

Pay phones have become a rare breed these days, but you can still find one at the base of a Cincinnati landmark. This is the tale of how a social media post inspired some photography that lead to the story of a sculpture and intersections of local history.

Solar Eclipse
The 2017 Solar Eclipse as experienced from the observation deck of Cincinnati's Carew Tower.

The Village Troubador
The Village of Greenhills, north of Cincinnati is a charming, little place. It has history dating back to The Great Depression, when the town was planned from its inception as one of three “Greenbelt Communities” established by the Federal Government as part of the New Deal. Unlike most American suburbs these days, snaked with highways and littered with chain restaurants, Greenhills is a lot simpler.

Abandoned Dentist Office
I hate to admit it, but it’s been awhile since I’ve been to the dentist. In fact, the last oral care office I visited was abandoned: no doctor, no box of cheap toys to take as a prize from for having no cavities. A friend of mine working on a nearby project showed me this place.

A Proposed Soccer Stadium, A Stalled Development, and a Question of How We Define What Exactly is "Cincinnati"
In June 2017, local soccer club FC Cincinnati announced it was considering three potential sites to build a stadium upon. The thought of a team labeled as "Cincinnati" playing in Kentucky has drawn perhaps the strongest reactions on both sides of the argument and river.

The Miracle Twin Drive-In Theatre
Outside of Flint, Michigan there's two forgotten screens, but just one abandoned drive-in.

Michigan 2017
Photographs and stories made while traversing the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

Toynbee Tiles and House of Hades
In search of cryptic messages embedded within the streets—I waited for traffic to subside, jogged out to the middle of the road and knelt down while an idling cab driver eyed me suspiciously.

[Fading Advertisements] Another Sign Near The Dennison Hotel Building?
With the recent and controversial demolition of the former Dennison Hotel, a building once known for its recognizable fading advertisements, has another ghost sign been revealed?

FC Cincinnati v. Valencia CF
On Monday, July 24, 2017, FC Cincinnati of the American second division United Soccer League took on Valencia CF of Spain's first division La Liga. The event marked the second international friendly in the local club's history, taking place among what's already been a season of memorable matches.
